Sarah Chilton De Escobar

Her mother will tell you that she could sing before she could speak and Sarah Chilton has been singing ever since. Born and raised in Swift Current Saskatchewan, Sarah Chilton began to study voice at the age of four. She always had a passion for performing and competed in various music festivals and competitions growing up.
Being the daughter of an accomplished pianist, Sarah was encouraged to study various instruments including piano, guitar, and flute. As well as her many musical talents she also studied dance for fourteen years. In 1994 Sarah moved to Calgary to attend the University of Calgary. She completed her Bachelor of Music Degree in Voice performance in 2004.
If you are around late enough on a Friday night you may just catch an Italian aria! After completing her university degree, Sarah took a trip to Mexico to celebrate and came home with a new love for Latin music and culture. Joining the band Latin Beat in 2005, she was able to develop her skills in singing in Spanish.
The band reformed under the name Banda Brava in 2008 and Sarah has been singing her heart out with them ever since. The band has brought her much enjoyment and in 2009 it also brought her a husband!
The old singer/drummer romance...Sarah and Jorge happily married in July 2009! Sarah loves to sing various styles of music including opera, blues, funk, soul, country, rock, reggae, ranchera, salsa, cumbia, merengue, bachata, reggaeton, and more.
